Hub Councils
Local-level governance within Aspire operates as a HUB MODEL with academies clustered together in hubs which are grouped according to both strategic and geographical areas. The HUB COUNCIL, led by an elected Chair, is made up of volunteers from the community and parents representing the school.
The hub model facilitates the sharing of data, best practice, and consistently challenges practitioners to deliver one of the Trust’s founding principles: to be transparent, generous, and honest in how we work with each other.
Each Hub Council maintains a responsibility to promote high standards and educational achievement, as delegated by the Trust Board. The Hub Councils focus primarily on monitoring, review and appropriate, effective challenge in key areas, namely academy improvement, sports and pupil premium outcomes and pupil progress. It acts as a critical friend, providing advice, support and guidance to the Head of School and to the academy.
The Hub Council also ensures that the values of the school and the ethos and core values of Aspire are upheld and are sufficiently reflected in the academy’s long-term development plans.
Every Aspire academy is accountable to the Trust Board. A hub council is perfectly positioned to facilitate this and to ensure the academies within it can realistically deliver the Trust's requirements and its core purpose of ensuring outstanding pupils outcomes.
The constitution of Hub Councils is set out in the Aspire Academy Trust Articles of Associations and Terms of Reference.
