Aspire Cross Country Finals 2026
On Thursday 26th March, 157 pupils from 16 Aspire schools competed in the inaugural Aspire Cross County Finals event at The Royal Showground in Wadebridge.

In the glorious sunshine, Years 4, 5 and 6 completed a challenging mile-long route (two laps) across undulating countryside, well supported by their peers, parents and staff. The pupils showed tremendous resilience and determination, as well as athleticism and great sportsmanship.

Thank you to our staff, parents and grandparents for support and enabling our pupils to attend and to members of the Aspire Core Service team for helping to co-ordinate on the day.
An extra special mention must go to James 'Rossi' Ross of St Breock Primary School for pulling this event together at short notice
As well as considerable time and effort organising, Rossi also spent hours chasing schools for their entries, with his legendary tenacity, humour and enthusiasm shining through. We are so grateful to him, as always for flying the PE & Sporting flag high for Aspire.
Finally, we extend our thanks to our Chair of Trustees Penny Shilston for being on hand to present the individual medals and team trophy. Hopefully even more schools and runners will participate next year as it's set to become another grand event in the Aspire sporting calendar!
