Why Aspire

Staff Wellbeing

Our Trust has a reputation for having high aspirations for achievement of pupils. It is also our responsibility to protect the pupils with regard to their wellbeing. Aspire is allowing academies to work together in ways that have not been seen before. It is dynamic and forward thinking. Aspire is committed to looking after the wellbeing of our staff so they can continue to provide the best educational experiences for pupils. We know that academies and schools play a vital role in supporting children’s mental health and building their resilience. In order for us, as educators, to be able to deliver this role we must be valued and supported ourselves. By fully embracing the whole philosophy behind health and wellbeing, we aim to give our staff and therefore our pupils, the ability to deal with the complexities of modern life.

Aspire Academy Trust is committed to being a mindful organisation where Health and Wellbeing is an integral element at the heart of the Trust. Every individual has a right to:

  • Mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing
  • Experience personal achievement

Aspire is dedicated to ensuring these rights are delivered. Aspire recognises that employee engagement is critical in ensuring that health and wellbeing provision is meaningful and successful. We are all responsible for creating an organisation that promotes health and wellbeing strategies. Health and Wellbeing strategies are opportunities to advance the Aspire workforce to a distinctive level. Inspirational learning environments can be created with a motivated, valued and dynamic workforce. Health and Wellbeing is core to a first class academy workforce where the pupils will be rewarded with outstanding outcomes.

We now have 35 trained champions in place with every academy having at least one champion. We are now in a position to train our own champions in house.

March 2016         Public Health England dropped the NHS contract and our remaining assessments were cancelled.

April 2016            Health assessments recommenced from the same gentleman, he is now a private provider and not NHS.

Summary               We have offered all staff the opportunity of a check with approximately 350- 400 staff members taking up the offer.
