Health & Wellbeing Champion Training (Day 1 of 2)Health and Wellbeing Champion Training Health and Wellbeing Champions are people who, with training and support, voluntarily bring their ability to relate to people and their own life experience to transform health and wellbeing in their schools. They help others to enjoy healthier lives by raising awareness of health and healthy choices, sharing health messages, removing barriers and creating supportive networks and environments. Your schools Health Champion should be:  • A positive thinker • Friendly and approachable • Enthusiastic and motivated • Non judgemental • Innovative and creative   The course is a 2 day accredited RSPH Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement that will be run by the Aspire Wellbeing Team.01/11/2017 - 01/11/17
Maths Network MeetingThe first meeting of the new academic year will set the agenda for Maths for the year ahead, looking at where we are with Mastery and how we can develop. KS1 and EYFS: simple, effective classroom iPads. Digital Learning Cornwall.iPads bring interesting, accessible and motivating activities to the youngest children at school. From phonics to handwriting, maths visualisation to role-play to green screening; focused iPad use in small group and whole-class teaching is a fantastic way to inspire children and ignite enthusiasm. Admin Team Meeting These whole day meetings are for all Aspire Admin to network and share good practice as well as get the latest news on safeguarding, Health and Safety, HR, ICT, finance, premises and more.  The afternoon part of each meeting is a training session on an area of particular interest chosen by the group.  Agendas are circulated prior to each meeting and we welcome attendance from admin with different responsibility to different parts of the meeting.  Timings:  10am – 12:30pm main meeting  1:00pm – 3:00pm training delivered by Neo People Management for new front of house administrators Lunch will be provided. Chromebooks, Google Classroom and more! Digital Learning Cornwall.Chromebooks and Google software are increasingly popular in schools; offering low-cost convenience and tools that fit easily into learning. This afternoon course will examine the specifics of how these devices work, with examples of school use that will inspire students - especially boys - to write, research and learn. Chromebooks allow teachers to inject variety and speed into feedback processes, with useful analytics options as well. Refreshments included. Teach Computing; resources and approaches. Digital Learning Cornwall.Tackle the Computing element of the curriculum with confidence. This course works through a wide range of resource options, appropriate for both key stages, dispelling fears of ‘algorithms’ and ‘debugging’ along the way. The day has been updated to include programmable hardware options, such as Microbits, as well as further hands-on opportunities that will leave attendees with the knowledge and experience needed to deliver Computing effectively. Memory WorkshopThe Cognition and Learning Service will be running a Memory Workshop at Treverbyn Academy, St Austell on Friday 17th November 2017. Approximate timings are 9.15am until 12.15pm. Refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) will be provided by the host school.   Target Audience   Secondary and Primary SENCOs, HLTAs and TAs   Aims of the training This course aims to: develop an understanding of why children and young people with cognition and learning needs (including dyslexia) often have memory difficulties equip delegates with resources, support strategies and interventions for pupils with memory difficulties Workshop content   What is short-term, working and long-term memory? How does working memory impact on literacy?
