Aspire success at the Nursery World Awards 2025

This year's Nursery World Awards held at The Brewery in central London on Saturday 27th September was another nail biter for the trust, with two of its settings in the running for prestigious titles. Shortlisted in the 'Inclusive Practice' category was Bugle School & Nursery and in the 'Early Years in School' category, Indian Queens Primary School & Nursery

The Bugle School & Nursery team has worked tirelessly to develop communication for all, ensuring every child has a voice and fully participates in their learning and social world. The EYFS team recognised a gap in its provision where some children—particularly those with limited verbal language, communication difficulties, or English as an additional language (EAL)—were not fully accessing the curriculum or peer interactions. This led the team to embed a whole-setting approach using Makaton, core boards, and communication-friendly strategies.

Indian Queens Primary School & Nursery has transformed its Early Years provision into an exceptional, nurturing, and innovative setting. From just five children in 2019, it is now at full capacity with a waiting list—evidence of the community’s trust and recognition of the quality of its offer. The passionate team of eight dedicated staff has driven this success, creating a setting rooted in high-quality continuous provision, inclusive practice, and strong parent partnerships.  It is the embodiment of a child-centred, inclusive approach, where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive.

Up against stiff competition, Bugle were delighted to be crowned 'Early Years in School' award winners!

Just pipped to the post, Indian Queens Nursery may not have had the win on the night, but as a FINALIST in the 'Early Years in School' category at the Nursery World Awards, it remains a tremendous achievement for the school.

The Trust is immensely proud of both Aspire academies. Getting our little ones off to a flying start, and flying the flag for Early Years best practice in Cornwall!
