SATs 2018 Success
The Aspire Academy Trust is pleased to announce that it is one of the country’s top performing large Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) in the primary sector, following the publication of MAT Key Stage 2 (KS2) Progress scores for 2018.
The MAT performance tables, published by the Department for Education (DfE) in December, show the Trust as one of the highest performing MATs (with 10+ primary schools) for primary education progress in England. The 2018 results saw successful performances across reading (7th place nationally) writing (5th place nationally) and mathematics (11th place nationally). Aspire is one of only eight large MATS that achieved above average results in all three subjects of reading, writing and mathematics.
In Cornwall, Aspire academies again feature in the top 10 schools for all subjects at both expected and higher standards and figures released by the Department for Education (DFE) also indicate that The Aspire Academy Trust is Cornwall’s top performing multi academy trust for pupil progress.
Featured in this year’s league tables is a new measurement that shows how schools have performed over time - an aggregated score for performance over the last three years. Sandy Hill Academy is Cornwall’s top performing school for Reading, Writing and Mathematics (RWM) combined at higher level, with Mawgan-in-Pydar School taking equal 3rd and Tintagel Primary School equal 4th. At expected level in RWM combined, Mawgan-in-Pydar School, Sandy Hill Academy, St Mawes Primary School and Mount Hawke Academy take four of the top ten positions across the Duchy.
